Surrounded by spectacular views and unspoilt indigenous forest, The Edge Mountain Retreat has characterful self-catering cottages and B&B Garden Rooms in 20 acres of beautiful gardens. Some of the cottages are perched on the edge of the cliff.

Enjoy these lovely self-catering units, each equipped for a comfortable and memorable stay. The options comprise beautiful cottages and thatched rondavels fitted with comfortable beds, charming furniture and inviting fireplaces. Some units come with gorgeous views of the mountains. For those who will be staying for only a short period, the B&B rooms are an ideal accommodation choice. Each room has an en-suite bathroom and includes tea and coffee-making facilities and an assortment of complimentary snacks and refreshments.

We offer an inviting pub and restaurant where guests can experience superb food made with mostly organic and locally sourced ingredients, with good wines to match. Feast on scrumptious breakfasts, light lunches and delicious dinners which are not to be missed. Don't forget to experience walking the acclaimed labyrinth during your stay which is located on the edge of the mountain.

The Edge Mountain Retreat in Hogsback Reviewed by Meredith Fernandes, South Africa on . Misty weekend getaway My husband and I had a magical weekend away in Apple Tree cottage at the Edge. The accommodation is set in the most beautiful gardens. We enjoyed wondering the gardens,  the labyrinth and the amazing view site. We received great service from reception and enjoyed the hot chocolate and playing cards around the fire in the restaurant. We were able to enjoy a delicious meal on Friday night at the restaurant on site without having made a prior booking. This trip we only visited the Big Tree accessed from away with the Fairies (awesome outdoor bath! ). As on previous trips we had compkeyed the other hikes and the misty weather made everything an extra challenge. We loved our weekend in Hogsback and would recommend the Edge to anyone. 
The Edge Mountain Retreat in Hogsback Reviewed by Tertia Oosthuizen, South Africa on . Nice, but take booking documents with The views are spectacular!! The accommodation was nice, clean and cosy. The food at the restaurant was average. Upon our arrival on 31/12/2014, the receptionist told us that our booking and payment were not received. The accommodation we booked and the deposit paid was not acknowledged. We booked a specific chalet at The Edge. We had to settle for something less, although we did receive a bit of a discount on that garden rondavel. Although I showed the receptionist the booking and confirmation on my Ipad, the lady still kept to what she said. The next morning (New Year's day) SafariNow confirmed the booking and payment and contacted The Edge. When we checked out, we were told (by a different receptionist) that the booking and money were received on time from SafariNow. I am very greatful of the great and speedy intervention from SafariNow in this regard! Especially on New Year's day!
